Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlings of India. It is believed the original temple was built by the Pandavas and was revived by Adi Shankaracharya in the 7th century. The temple is built of massive stone slabs, laid over a rectangular platform. The inner walls are adorned with depictions of Deities and scenes from mythology. The temple is closed for nearly six months in Winter.
